Our shoes are shaped on custom orthotic lasts calibrated to standard US Brannock shoe size. If you normally wear a US 10.5 in dress shoes or heritage boots, select 10.5. Athletic running sneakers often run a half size small; therefore, if you wear a size 11 in commercial running shoes, you will likely wear a 10.5 in Cobbler Ridge.
Because we use rich, full-grain leathers and thick vegetable-tanned insoles with natural cork filler, expect a brief break-in period of 3 to 5 wears (approximately 15–20 hours of walking). As warmth and body weight compress the cork bed, the footbed will form a custom mold of your arch and heel cup.
When the treads on your Vibram outsoles wear down, simply contact info@cobblerridge.online to purchase a recrafting package ($95). You send your worn shoes to our Asheville workshop, where we carefully strip the old cupsole, inspect the upper, replace the interior cork bed, stitch on a brand new Vibram sole, hand-condition the leather, and ship them back to you.
We recommend applying a light coat of natural beeswax conditioner or Venetian leather cream every 3 to 6 months depending on usage. For suede models, use a brass bristle brush to raise the nap and apply a non-silicone suede water protector before wet weather.
100% of our footwear is benchmade in the United States across our primary studio in Asheville, North Carolina and our partner handsewn moccasin workshop in Lewiston, Maine. We source our hides from American and European heritage tanneries.
